On July 14, 2023, the 4th International Conference on Information Science, Parallel and Distributed Systems (ISPDS 2023) was successfully held. Organized by the Computer Academy of Guangdong and co-organized by the University of Leicester, UK, the conference showcased a harmonious blend of “offline + online” sessions, with the home venue in China and sub-venue in the UK. Focusing on “Information Science, Parallel and Distributed Systems”, scholars shared scientific research achievements and cutting-edge technologies and explored academic development trends. The conference attracted over 200 participants, including senior experts, researchers, and young scholars from global universities, research institutions, and enterprises.

On behalf of the organizer, Mr. Xuan Huang, the Secretary-General of the Computer Academy of Guangdong, delivered a speech and extended a warm welcome to all the present university leaders and experts.Currently, rapid advancements in science and technology have immersed us in the era of information. Computers have become a crucial tool in people’s work and daily lives, not only addressing fundamental needs but also catering to personalized and intelligent requirements, offering greater convenience for living and learning.In this context, aiming to strengthen research on intelligent technology and services, explore theoretical and practical aspects, stay abreast of the latest trends, and promote academic prosperity in Information Science, Parallel, and Distributed Systems, as well as its application in the realm of big data, we specially invited experts around the world to join in this enriching event, featuring high-level and open exchanges of knowledge.

During the conference, Professor Shancheng Zhao from Jinan University, Professor Simon K.S. Cheung from Hong Kong Metropolitan University, Professor Congduan Li from Sun Yat-Sen University, Professor Shuai Li from Swansea University, and Professor Yudong Zhang from the University of Leicester delivered captivating presentations. Experts shared their remarkable academic achievements and discussed crucial challenges and research directions in this field. The goal was to promote the development and application of theoretical and technical knowledge in universities and enterprises while fostering connections and seeking global partnerships for attendees’ future endeavors.

The conference simultaneously took place in both China and the UK, enabling cross-border exchanges through online connections. Multiple scholars presented their research findings through poster displays, remarkable presentations, and enthusiastic discussions. Rooted in the vast academic field, young scholars embraced their dedication to research innovation, remaining passionate and responsible as they bravely advanced on their scientific journey.
